Unichem Services Ltd began in 1997 in Durban, South Africa, with the establishment of the Petroleum Chemicals division; by servicing and supplying Mobil Chemical’s synthetic base stocks, esters and Mobilad range of additives to local and multi-national lube oil marketers and blenders.  Since then, Unichem’s Petrochemicals division has grown to represent ExxonMobil Chemical Synthetics in South Africa and other African and Middle East countries; responsible for the distribution of fully synthetic base oils and esters, as well as a range of speciality additives, for the lube oil blenders and grease industries in sub-Saharan Africa. 

 

The Consumer Care division (personal care, cosmetics and home care) was set up in 2001, with the exclusive distribution rights of Exxonmobil Chemical’s PureSyn range of products for the personal care and cosmetic industry in South Africa.  Since then, the division has grown and we have expanded our product range to offer a fully comprehensive ingredients portfolio for the Consumer Care industry.
